Sustrans National Cycle Route Sculpture - Folkestone

The Coccoliths group of sculptures were inspired by the skeletons of the tiny sea creatures that make up the chalk cliffs around Dover, UK.

The sculpture marks a rest point for travellers on the Chalk and Channel Way between Dover and Folkestone.

I was asked by Acanthus Studio, London to co-design the model maquettes, create the full sized sculptures from polystyrene and fabricate glass fibre moulds for the sculptures production.

The final pieces were factory hollow cast in concrete and are sited on Smallpox Hill overlooking Folkestone Harbour, UK.
